Session fees
Individual therapy
50-minute session, in person in Beverly Hills or via telehealth.
Couples & family therapy
50-minute session, in person in Beverly Hills or via telehealth.
I reserve a limited number of reduced-fee openings. Availability varies, but if the standard fee would make therapy difficult to access, you are welcome to ask whether a reduced-fee space is currently available.
Insurance & out-of-network benefits
I am a private-pay provider and am not currently contracted with insurance plans. Payment is made directly to my practice at the time of service.
If your plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Reimbursement varies by plan and is not guaranteed, so I encourage you to confirm your benefits directly with your insurer before beginning therapy.
Common questions
Do you take insurance?
I am not in-network with insurance plans. Depending on your policy, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement through out-of-network benefits. I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurer.
What is a superbill?
A superbill is a document you can submit to your insurance company when seeking out-of-network reimbursement. It typically includes dates of service, service codes, fees paid, my provider information, and a diagnosis code when applicable. Because a superbill contains clinical information, submitting one means sharing that information with your insurance company.
How can I find out what my insurance may reimburse?
Contact the member-services number on your insurance card and ask whether you have out-of-network outpatient mental health benefits, whether you have an out-of-network deductible and how much has been met, what percentage or amount your plan reimburses after the deductible, and whether there are any authorization requirements.
Your insurer is the best source for confirming your specific benefits and reimbursement. I am happy to clarify questions about the documentation I provide, but I cannot guarantee how an insurance company will process or reimburse a claim.
Is there a sliding scale?
I reserve a limited number of reduced-fee spaces, and availability changes over time. If the standard fee is not workable, you are welcome to ask whether a reduced-fee opening is currently available.
How long are sessions, and how often will we meet?
Individual, couples, and family sessions are 50 minutes. Many clients begin with weekly sessions, particularly when establishing therapy. Frequency is based on your goals, clinical needs, and the nature of our work, and we can revisit it together over time.
How do I pay?
I use SimplePractice, a secure client portal, for intake forms, scheduling, billing, receipts, and superbills. A credit or debit card is kept on file and payment is processed after each session. Eligible HSA and FSA cards may also be used.
Receipts, invoices, and superbills are available through the client portal.
What is your cancellation policy?
I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Late cancellations and missed appointments are charged the full session fee because that time has been reserved for you. Exceptions may be made in the case of emergencies, as outlined in my practice policies.
What is a Good Faith Estimate?
Under the federal No Surprises Act, clients who are uninsured or are not using insurance to pay for care have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges in circumstances specified by law. I provide Good Faith Estimates as required, and you may also request one.
If the amount you are billed is at least $400 more than the amount listed on your Good Faith Estimate, you may be eligible to use the federal patient-provider dispute resolution process.
What is EMDR actually like?
EMDR is a structured approach to processing distressing or traumatic experiences. Before beginning processing, we spend time understanding what you would like to address, assessing readiness, and developing appropriate resources.
During processing, you may focus on aspects of an experience while engaging in bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements, tapping, or tones. You remain awake and aware throughout the process, and we work collaboratively at a pace that feels clinically appropriate.
Do you work with couples when one partner is unsure about therapy?
Yes. It is common for partners to come to therapy with different levels of comfort or certainty about the process. Both partners do not need to feel exactly the same about therapy to begin; what matters is a willingness to participate in an initial conversation and explore what is happening in the relationship.
Do you see clients outside Beverly Hills?
Yes. I offer in-person therapy in my Beverly Hills office and telehealth to clients who are physically located in California at the time of their session. EMDR may also be provided via telehealth when clinically appropriate.
Are you accepting new clients?
Yes. I am currently welcoming new clients for individual, couples, and family therapy, both in my Beverly Hills office and via telehealth throughout California.
The best next step is a brief introductory consultation to discuss what you are looking for, availability, and whether working together may be a good fit.
