Therapy for what you’re carrying — and the people you carry it with.

I’m Reyna Kot, a licensed marriage and family therapist. I work with individuals, couples, and families on trauma, relationships, and the things that have been hard to say out loud.

The work

How I work

Therapy tends to go better when it starts with what is actually happening, rather than a theory about it. Early on we talk about your life as you experience it — what feels heavy, what keeps repeating, what you would want to be different.

I was trained systemically, which means I pay attention to context: the relationships around a difficulty, the roles people settle into, the histories that shaped them. That holds whether you come in on your own, as a couple, or as a family.

Much of my clinical work has been with people carrying trauma, including survivors of domestic and sexual violence, and that experience shapes how carefully I pace things. We never move faster than feels manageable, and you decide what we open and when.

My work draws on EMDR, the Gottman Method, internal family systems, attachment-based and psychodynamic approaches, narrative therapy, and trauma-focused CBT. Which of those we use depends entirely on you.
